    Lady Terrors come back to roll J-burg

    JOHNSONBURG — The Lady Terrors blew open what had been a close game early on by outscoring Johnsonburg 41-24 in the second half to improve to 13-0 on the season with a 77-57 non-league victory.

    Camryn Thomas led the way with a double-double for Otto, finishing with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Also contributing for O-E were Ali Cousins (19 points, five steals, five assists), Alyssa Shelander (12 points), and Britney Greeley (four points, four rebounds, three steals).

    Cassidy King (20 points) and Maria Jones (15) both finished in double figures for the Lady Rams (6-8).

    Otto-Eldred will be back in action today when the Terrors host Austin.

     

    Cowanesque Valley 54, Oswayo Valley 32

    SHINGLEHOUSE — Oswayo Valley was held to just 13 points in the first half as the Green Wave fell to 5-9 on the season.

    Shayla Bickel scored a game-high 23 points for OV in the losing effort. Karina West, meanwhile, finished with five points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks.

    “Cowanesque’s a very strong team,” OV coach Kelly Rice said. “But I was impressed with our girls. They played a very good game despite the loss.”

    Makayla Vargeson led the Lady Indians with 15 points.

    Oswayo Valley will travel to Port Allegany on Thursday.

     

    NORTH TIER LEAGUE

    Cameron County 56, Austin 27

    EMPORIUM — After trailing by one point after eight minutes, the Lady Red Raiders outscored Austin 49-19 the rest of the way to improve to 5-4 in NTL play.

    Kaelee Bresslin (16 points) and Alyvia McKimm (11 points) both finished in double figures for Cameron County, while Amily Schatz finished with eight points, 11 rebounds, and two steals.

    Jordan Brewer led Austin with 10 points.

    Both teams will be in action again today: Cameron County (5-10 overall, 5-4 NTL) hosts Port Allegany, while Austin (0-12 overall, 0-8 NTL) will visit Otto-Eldred.
