New COVID-19 cases in all four local counties

New cases of COVID-19 were reported in all four local counties, and one local county — Elk — reported one new death on Friday.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported on Friday that Elk County now has 6 total deaths from the virus, along with 11 new cases. Elk has a total of 509 cases — 414 confirmed and 95 probable — and 3,877 negative tests.

McKean and Potter counties have 7 new cases each. There are 444 total in McKean — 369 confirmed and 75 probable — 6,513 negative tests. In Potter, there are a total of 199 cases: 172 confirmed and 27 probable. Potter has had 1,836 negative tests.

The number of deaths remains at 4 in McKean County and 3 in Potter County. Cameron County is the only county in Pennsylvania that is reporting no deaths due to COVID-19.

Cameron County’s total increased by 1 to 25, with 22 confirmed and 3 probable. There have been 633 negative tests.

On Friday, the Department of Health reported the percent positivity rate for the most recent 7 days: 18.7% in Potter, 12.7% in Cameron, 10.1% in Elk and 8.7% in McKean.

The Department of Health also reported where cases are distributed throughout each county.

Cases in Elk County are in Ridgway, 55 confirmed, 15 probable; Wilcox, 13 confirmed, 5 probable; St. Marys, 218 confirmed, 24 probable; Johnsonburg, 50 confirmed, 11 probable; Kersey, 25 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Weedville, 23 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Byrnedale, 1-4 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Benezette, 6 confirmed; and Brockport, 16 confirmed, 1-4 probable.

In McKean County, Bradford has 164 confirmed, 39 probable; Eldred, 21 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Duke Center, 6 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Rixford and Gifford, each 1-4 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Derrick City, 5 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Kane, 44 confirmed, 5 probable; Lewis Run, 10 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Mount Jewett, 15 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Smethport, 39 confirmed, 5 probable; Cyclone and Crosby, each 1-4 confirmed; Rew, 8 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Port Allegany, 27 confirmed, 1-4 probable; and Turtlepoint, 7 confirmed, 1-4 probable.

In Potter, here is where cases are: Coudersport, 69 confirmed, 13 probable; Shinglehouse, 25 confirmed, 5 probable; Roulette, 10 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Austin and Harrison Valley, each 5 confirmed, 1-4 probable; Galeton and Genesee, each 23 confirmed; Ulysses, 10 confirmed; and Mills, 1-4 confirmed.

Cameron has 19 confirmed and 1-4 probable in Emporium, and 1-4 confirmed in Driftwood.

Statewide, the Department of Health reported 7,360 new cases on Friday, bringing the statewide total to 343,614.

As of 11:59 p.m. Thursday, there were 21 new deaths reported for a total of 10,234 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

On Friday, there were 4,087 people hospitalized with COVID-19, and 877 of those patients are in the intensive care unit. The statewide percent positivity for Nov. 13-19 was 11.1%.

A total of 15,869 individuals have had a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases, and 643 individuals have had a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.

Earlier this week, Gov. Tom Wolf signed a third renewal of the 90-day Proclamation of Disaster Emergency for the COVID-19 pandemic. The renewed declaration will be effective for another 90 days unless it is rescinded sooner or extended.

The declaration provided for additional support to state agencies involved in the response to COVID-19 and subsequent recovery.
