Linda Ackley has been dedicated to providing care to residents at Bradford Ecumenical Home as a certified nursing assistant for 32 years.
BEH administrator and CEO, Lisa Johnson, stated, “Linda’s love and compassion for the residents and Bradford Ecumenical Home is admirable. She has always gone above and beyond to help make residents look and feel better.”
Johnson talked about the passion and strength that Ackley has for her family, BEH and the community.
“Qualities, as such, encourage others to want to be better, to do more,” Johnson said. “Bradford Ecumenical Home is extremely fortunate to have Linda as a Certified Nursing Assistant for the past 32 years!”
Ackley started at the Hannum Home in June 1989, then made the transition when BEH opened its doors on Aug. 5, 1989. When asked what led her to the career she has been devoted to for almost half her life, Ackley replied, “I’ve always enjoyed being around and working with elderly.”
As a child, she always looked forward to spending time with both sets of grandparents in Buffalo, N.Y. Numerous enjoyable visits made great memories that fostered a passion and respect for older adults.
Ackley and her husband, Douglas, have three children and five grandchildren. She enjoys family dinners, riding her bike, swimming and taking oceanside family vacations in North Carolina.
She has worked every shift throughout her years of service. Bradford Ecumenical Home will honor Ackley today for her skilled and compassionate care she has provided for 32 years (and still counting).
