The Women’s Literary Club met Friday at Hill Memorial Church, with President Mary Lou Detweiler welcoming everyone. Mary Lou stated that this week’s program will be Nature Photography with Rocky Holland presenting the program.
Rocky is a U.S. Army veteran who served in Alaska during the Vietnam War. There he bought his first 35mm camera and never looked back. Thousands of images later, over 56 years, he still loves nature photography.
Rocky has many galleries throughout this area, including the Westline Inn. His biggest show every year is the Art in the Wilds show in Kane, where he shows many photography pictures. He also has a gallery called Eagle-Eye Photography in Kane.
Rocky showed the club many gorgeous pictures of wildlife, including birds, eagles, bears, owls, bold eagles, great blue herons, dragon flies, whales, bobcats’ elk, deer, sunsets, seasonal pictures and beautiful Kinzua pictures. He has taken many pictures from this area as well as Alaska, Oregon and the Pacific coast area. It was truly a beautiful program.
After the speaker, Mary Lou introduced two guests, and thanked the Hostess Committee and stated that card day will be held at the Bradford Library on March 8. The next program, Report Day, will be March 15 with lunch at Togi’s at noon.
