    HS Wrap: Austin, Port, OV among volleyball winners; Bradford boys crush Corry

    AUSTIN — Ella Brewer turned in another big defensive effort, Jade Williams and Isabella Rees led offensively and the Austin volleyball team defeated Smethport in straight sets Thursday (25-15, 25-12, 25-12).

    Brewer recorded 24 digs in the win, while Williams turned in eight kills and seven aces. Rees tacked on six kills and three aces, while Marah Fowler posted four aces, four digs and 16 assists.

    Baylee Fitzsimmons led Smethport with five service points, three aces and 13 digs. Madi Faes had six digs and four assists, and Alyn Thomas added three points, three kills and an ace.

    Port Allegany 3,

    Cameron County 1

    EMPORIUM — Ella Moses’ 10 kills and 10 digs helped power Port Allegany over Cameron County in four sets (25-15, 22-25, 25-20, 25-12).

    Kayleigha Dowell registered 27 points, three aces and four kills for Port, while Kyla Andreano added 23 points, six kills and eight digs. Leigha Nelson gifted 35 assists and Madeline Smith added 16 kills.

    For CC, Nevaeh Speath turned in three points, seven kills and two blocks. Aaralyn Robinson had nine points, Kendall Richards had 11 opints and Ava Hilfiger added four kills and four blocks.

    Galeton 3, Coudersport 1

    GALETON — Despite 32 digs and two aces from Coudersport’s Emilee Ruter, Galeton defeated the Lady Falcons in four sets (25-17, 26-24, 24-26, 25-22).

    Sierra Myers recorded 10 kills, two blocks and three aces for Coudy, while Madyson Dubots-Angood had four kills, 15 digs and an ace.

    Oswayo Valley 3,

    Northern Potter 0

    SHINGLEHOUSE — Avaree Kellert stuffed the stat sheet with 12 kills, 11 digs, six points and a block to help power Oswayo Valley over Northern Potter in straight sets (25-12, 25-11, 25-10).

    Olivia Cook added 10 kills, eight digs, eight points and two blocks for OV, while Praylan Perkins turned in 10 kills, eight digs and four points. Trinity Lundy had 18 points, two digs, 31 assists and a kill.

    Rebecca Martin led NoPo with 11 digs, two kills and a block. Haylee Chapman added 11 digs and a kill, and Sarah Risser posted eight digs and two kills.

    Elk County Catholic 3, DuBois Central Catholic 0

    ST. MARYS — Reagan Bauer had seven kills and six aces to help lead Elk County Catholic over DuBois Central Catholic in straight sets (25-14, 25-12, 25-13).

    Tori Newton added nine kills for ECC, while Madison Marzullo had five kills and three blocks and Maddie Bierley added four kills and a block. Gabby Weisner had four aces, Kiri Emmert had 16 assists and Payton Newton added 11 assists.

    BOYS SOCCER

    Bradford 12, Corry 1

    CORRY — Jake Franz scored three goals and dished out four assists to lead Bradford in a big win over Corry.

    Mitch Strauss added two goals and an assist for the Owls, while Lucas Johnson had a goal and two assists and Gabe Tate added two assists of his own. Alex Rimer registered a goal and an assist, while Andy Mangold, Owen Troisi, Kaden Kicior and Kyler Hogue each added a goal and Colin Conneely tacked on an assist.

    Tristan Dragoone and Aiden Abbott combined to make two saves for Bradford.

    North-Penn Liberty 5, Northern Potter 1

    ULYSSES — Brady Stetter and Zachary Wilcox each scored two goals to lead North-Penn Liberty over Northern Potter.

    Wyatt Bliss scored NoPo’s lone goal, while Malachi Lewis made 24 saves in goal for the Panthers.

    GIRLS GOLF

    Bradford 41,

    Cameron County 12

    BRADFORD — Cadence Stiles earned medalist honors with a round of 46 to lead Bradford over Cameron County.

    Payten Leet added a 53 for Bradford, while Elyse Umble led CC with 77.

    Bradford: Cadence Stiles 46, Payten Leeet 53, Alexia Corignani 55, Lillian Erickson 63, Payton Morgan 68

    CC: Elyse Umble 73, Maggie Abriatis 77, Delaney Rowan 82

    Smethport 33,

    Oswayo Valley 19

    SMETHPORT — Olivia Schott earned medalist honors with a 47 and Smethport defeated Oswayo Valley.

    Rylee Thompson led OV with a 55.

    GIRLS TENNIS

    Elk County Catholic 5, Bradford 2

    Sydney Hamer won at third singles and Alisya Dansberger won at fourth singles for Bradford, but the Lady Owls fell to Elk County Catholic.

    “(Dansberger) has been a leader all season off the court, and now, her hard work is paying off on the court,” Bradford coach Doug Atteberry said. “She is getting ready for doubles districts.”

    Lilly Kemick added a victory in the resumption of a match she had started at an earlier match at ECC. After the match started with a 3-3 score, Kemick dropped three consecutive games before winning the second set, 6-4, and the tiebreaker, 10-8.

    JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL

    Oil City 32, Bradford 0

    OIL CITY — After leading by a dozen points at halftime, Oil City scored a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to run away with a victory from Bradford.

    Braylon Austin completed 6-of-13 pass attempts for 32 yards for the Owls, while Brody Havland carried the ball nine times for 21 yards. Tommy Langdon had two carries for 20 yards and two coaches for eight yards, while Kolton Miller added four catches for 24 yards and two carries for 14 yards.

    Defensively, Langdon had four tackles, including one for a loss, and recovered a fumble. Austin had two tackles and an interception, Miller made three tackles, Collin Schlopy had three tackles and a fumble recovery, and Luke Erickson recorded two tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.

    Smethport 38, Coudersport 0

    SMETHPORT — Jack Sherry threw two touchdowns and ran for another, helping Smethport to a shutout victory over Coudersport.

    Zach Hungiville had a 34-yard touchdown reception and Aiden Tanner had a 50-yard touchdown reception, while Jude Kisko scored a rushing touchdown and added a pair of two-point conversions.

    Braiden Keech also had a two-point conversion, while Hungiville made a tackle for a safety.

    Cameron County 20, Kane 6

    EMPORIUM — Sonny Fregali turned in a 65-yard touchdown run, five-yard touchdown run and 65-yard interception return to lead Cameron County over Kane.

    Gabe Novak added a one-yard touchdown rush for CC, while Talan Tucker had an interception and Jabob Matheson had two interceptions.
