Nearly 100 additional cases of COVID-19 were reported in the region on Tuesday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Three local counties had additional deaths due to COVID-19 reported as well. McKean County reported a total of 18 deaths, Elk County, 15, and Cameron County, 3. Potter County’s number remained at 13. As of Tuesday, there were 267 new deaths reported for a total of 15,353 deaths in Pennsylvania attributed to COVID-19.
In the state as of Tuesday, there were 8,545 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 622,349
McKean County had 48 additional cases for a total of 1,624 — 1,270 confirmed and 354 probable. Elk County had an increase of 40 cases for a total of 1,353 — 869 confirmed and 484 probable. Potter County had 4 additional cases for a total of 565 — 503 confirmed and 62 probable. Cameron County had 4 more cases for a total of 139 — 96 confirmed and 43 probable.
In Bradford, there were 19 additional cases for 545 confirmed and 114 probable; in Smethport, 6 more cases for 143 confirmed and 10 probable; Port Allegany, 2 more for 102 confirmed and 11 probable; Kane, 6 more cases for 195 confirmed and 26 probable; Lewis Run, 4 more cases for 54 confirmed and 149 probable; Derrick City, at least 1 more case for 9 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable; Eldred, 8 more cases for 79 confirmed and 8 probable; and Cyclone has 1 more case for 9 confirmed and 6 probable.
In Elk County, St. Marys has 27 more cases for 412 confirmed and 188 probable; Ridgway, 5 more cases for 166 confirmed and 55 probable; Johnsonburg, 2 more cases for 84 confirmed and 35 probable; and Kersey has 5 more cases for 54 confirmed and 36 probable.
In Potter County, Coudersport has 1 more case for 208 confirmed and 30 probable, and Shinglehouse has 3 more cases for 65 confirmed and 8 probable.
In Cameron County, Emporium had 4 more cases for 84 confirmed and 35 probable.
In Pennsylvania, there are 5,995 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, near double the peak in the spring. Of that number, 1,174 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19.
In McKean County, 12 patients were hospitalized, 2 in intensive care; in Elk County, 9 patients were hospitalized; and in Potter County, 11 patients were hospitalized, 3 in intensive care.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 51,999 resident cases of COVID-19, and 9,410 cases among employees, for a total of 61,409 at 1,457 distinct facilities in all 67 counties. Out of our total deaths, 8,633 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
In McKean County, 8 facilities reported 224 cases among residents, 50 among staff and 14 deaths. In Elk County, 3 facilities reported 101 cases among residents, 38 among staff and 4 deaths. In Potter County, 2 facilities reported 21 cases among residents and 13 among staff. In Cameron County, 1 facility reported 24 cases among residents, 6 among staff and one death.
