More than 100 additional cases of COVID-19 were reported in the region on Wednesday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Elk County’s virus case count jumped by 76 cases to 1,207 — 790 confirmed and 417 probable, with 4,452 negative tests.
McKean County had 15 more cases for 1,398 total — 1,055 confirmed and 343 probable, with 7,678 negative tests. One more person has passed away from COVID-19, for a total of 14.
Potter County had 6 more cases for 505 total — 449 confirmed and 56 probable, with 2,328 negative tests.
Cameron County had 4 additional cases for 125 total — 86 confirmed and 39 probable, with 725 negative tests.
In Bradford, there were 7 more cases for 469 confirmed and 110 probable; in Kane, 4 more cases for 166 confirmed and 26 probable; Smethport, 1 more case for 108 confirmed and 9 probable; and Mount Jewett, at least 1 more for 26 confirmed and 1 to 4 probable.
In Elk County, St. Marys had 35 additional cases for 371 confirmed and 144 probable; Johnsonburg, 5 more cases for 75 confirmed and 33 probable; Ridgway, 15 additional cases for 155 confirmed and 48 probable; Wilcox, 2 more cases for 24 confirmed and 13 probable; Kersey, 8 more cases for 51 confirmed and 29 probable; Brockport, 1 more case for 34 confirmed and 18 probable; and Weedville, 6 more cases for 44 confirmed and 23 probable.
In Potter County, 2 more cases in Coudersport, for 196 confirmed and 27 probable; Shinglehouse, 1 more case for 49 confirmed and 8 probable; Austin, 2 more cases for 24 confirmed and 9 probable; and Galeton, 1 more case for 45 confirmed.
In Cameron County, Emporium had 3 more cases for 73 confirmed and 31 probable.
In Pennsylvania, there were 9,605 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 581,156.
There are 6,151 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19, double the peak in the spring. Of that number, 1,236 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19.
In Elk County, there were 5 people hospitalized with COVID-19; in McKean, 8 hospitalized, 1 in intensive care; and in Potter, 10 hospitalized, 2 in intensive care.
As of Wednesday, there were 230 new deaths reported for a total of 14,442 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 49,042 resident cases of COVID-19, and 8,942 cases among employees, for a total of 57,984 at 1,435 distinct facilities in all 67 counties.
In McKean County, 8 facilities have reported 190 cases among residents, 46 among staff and 9 deaths.
In Elk County, 3 facilities have reported 101 cases of COVID-19 among residents, 36 among staff and 4 deaths. In Potter County, 2 facilities have reported 20 cases among residents and 8 among staff. In Cameron County, 1 facility has reported 24 COVID-19 cases among residents, 6 among staff and 1 death.
