Local case counts for COVID-19 had no change Wednesday, but statewide, an additional 705 positive cases were reported, bringing the Pennsylvania total to 115,714.
According to the state health department, Elk County has had 46 positives, McKean County has had 33, Potter County has had 20 and Cameron County has had 6. Fifteen counties have case counts below 100.
Cameron County’s number is the lowest in the state, followed by Forest County at 9, Sullivan County at 10, Potter and Warren counties at 20 each, Fulton County at 25, McKean at 33, Tioga at 36, Elk County at 46, Wyoming at 58, Jefferson at 61, Venango at 62, Clarion at 77, Bradford at 85 and Montour at 97.
There are 21 counties with case counts over 1,000, and seven with counts over 5,000: Philadelphia County with 26,196; Montgomery County with 9,952; Delaware County with 9,032; Allegheny County with 8,512; Bucks County with 7,085; Lancaster County with 5,725; and Berks County with 5,267.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the number of tests administered within the last 7 days between July 29 and Aug. 4 is 148,934 with 5,625 positive cases. There were 18,814 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m., August 4. These results represent the total number of tests administered.
There are 7,244 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 12 new deaths reported. Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19.
There are 643 patients who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure, which are considered probable cases and not confirmed cases. There are 1,169,011 patients who have tested negative to date.
