With Gov. Tom Wolf saying that McKean County will move from the yellow phase to the green phase, effective Friday, Open Arms Church, has announced that onsite services will return to both campuses in Bradford and Port Allegany on May 31.
“Church leadership is still working out the details as to what this would look like, but what we do know is that things won’t be as they were in March,” said Pastors Zoe Hatcher and Matt Burt in a letter to the community.
They explained, “Face masks and social distancing are still being encouraged by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We care deeply about your health and safety and are taking extra precautions as we reenege with each of you. We are ensuring the buildings will be cleaned before, during and after each service, and face masks and hand sanitizer will be available.”
Services are set to be held May 31 in Bradford at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The Port Allegany campus will announce service times later this week.
Children’s ministries are not available at this time.
“We encourage families to sit together and follow up with our online lesson programming for their children,” the pastors stated. “As we follow up with our volunteer teams and the plans to follow guidelines come together for the May 31 services and following, we will be sure to keep you updated with details.”
The church will continue to offer church online for anyone who is at risk or sick, or who feel more comfortable worshipping from home. Online worship can be found at 6 p.m. today at http://live.oachurch.com/
“We will be continuing to engage with our online audience that we have gained in this season. We are blessed with the opportunity to still reach many around the world with an online presence,” said Hatcher and Burt.
“We encourage you to remember that the church was never closed in this season of pandemic, but has been very much alive and active in our homes and community,” they said. “Closing our building was in response for your safety for a time.”
