ST. MARYS — The Elk County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of North Central PA, has added 15 new high school scholarships this year to the list already available to area high school seniors.
This has increased the total scholarships awarded by the foundation to 89 across five counties. The Elk Community Foundation has distributed all post-secondary or vocational school scholarship applications to the high school guidance departments. Five of the new scholarships are the Seth Hockman, Richard Miller, the Ella McElhany and Maude Schimmelfeng, Tristan Sauers and Chuck Daly awards. These five scholarships cover Elk County and Kane.
Each scholarship that is available has a different focus, so students are invited to check each one out and see if it is right for them. Additional graduate scholarships are also available for music, law, medical and nursing. The Michele Campbell Nursing Scholarship, the Joseph Williams medical scholarship, Greiner/Roof law scholarship, the Inez Bull Piano and Ole Bull Violin scholarships can also be found on the foundation website.
All the scholarships and their qualifications for the Elk County Community Foundation or the Community Foundation of North Central PA are listed on the Elk County Community Foundation website at www.elkcountyfoundation.com. For further details and deadlines, students can contact their school guidance counselors or the Elk County Community Foundation at 814 834-2125.
