Anna Lemnitzer, assistant professor of art at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, will exhibit her work in the KOA Art Gallery in Blaisdell Hall through Dec. 16.
An opening for the show, “Contemporary Figurative Work — An Exhibition in Graphite and Watercolor,” will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 1 in the KOA Speer Electronics Gallery. Both the show and the opening are free and open to the public.
Lemnitzer said the 13 large works incorporate digital photography and editing, traditional drawing and watercolor to explore contemporary methods and portraiture.
Her work explores visual symbolism, personality and identity, being immortalized and the idea of perfection.
Lemnitzer has been working on the project since 2013. In summer 2016, she received a grant to complete the project, but plans to continue to add portraits to the series and show them throughout the region and the country.
Lemnitzer has taught art at Pitt-Bradford since 2013. She holds a master of fine arts degree from the University of Montana and a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Arizona.
At Pitt-Bradford, she teaches drawing, painting, digital photography and digital graphic design.
Hours of the KOA Art Gallery are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
