LEGAL NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that on Monday, April 20, 2026, the McKean County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing at 6:00PM. The public hearing will be held in the Grange Building at the McKean County Fairgrounds, 7172 Route 46, Smethport, PA 16749. The purpose of this hearing is to consider the adoption of a proposed addendum to the ordinance entitled: Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance of McKean County, to Provide for the Regulation of Siting, Construction, Operation, and Decommissioning of Solar Energy. This Ordinance establishes comprehensive regulations for siting, operation, monitoring, and decommissioning of utility-scale Solar energy facilities within McKean County. The proposed ordinance includes: Permit requirement through the County Planning Commission. Minimum setback distances from property lines, dwellings, wells, roads, wetlands, and public lands. Standards for noise, fire safety, and environmental protections. Requirements for decommissioning, restoration, and financial security. And Procedures for public participation and enforcement of compliance.
