UPB MEN: Pitt-Greensburg 104, UPB 95
Pitt-Bradford couldn’t quite keep up with Pitt-Greensburg in a game of offensive fireworks on Saturday.
UPG led 51-50 at halftime as both teams scored in bunches. All five starters scored in double-digits for Pitt-Greensburg as did one player off the bench. Matt Johnson put up 20 points to lead the team. Micah Jones had 19 points, JoJo France had 16 points, Reggie Priah had 11, Jaylen Williams had 11 and Lukas Swartz had 16 points off the bench.
Swartz and Jones were crucial in the second half, scoring 14 and 11 points respectively to power UPG to a narrow nine point win.
Nathan Schneider led all scorers with 28 points and shot 12-17 from the field to pilot UPB’s offense. Isaiah Archie was second on the team with 15 points while Greg Archie scored 11. Foul trouble hurt Pitt-Bradford in the second half, as they allowed UPG to shoot 11-13 from the line. UPB went the same number of times but couldn’t make their shots, going just 8-13 from the charity stripe.
UPB falls to 5-5 on the season and plays today, at home, against Penn State-DuBois. It will be UPB’s last game until the New Year.
UPB WOMEN:

Pitt-Greensburg took a 14 point lead in the first quarter and never looked back, leading 61-28 at half before winning by 53.
Pitt-Bradford, still without Hannah Lary, found scoring from Ashley Hall who put up 19 points. Cailey Barnett had 12 points for UPB but was the only other player to score in double-digits.
All five starters for UPG scored in double-digits while two had over 20. Nadege Durand led everyone with 24 points and dished out five assists. Shaquoia McCray earned a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds on 11-13 shooting from the field. Maddie Sitler and Melina Maietta had 14 points each while Sidney McCully put up 11.
The loss puts UPB at 2-9 on the season. They’re off until Dec. 30 when they visit Elmira.
