    We can’t live in fear

This pandemic has caused many disruptions in everyone’s lives. Yes, scary and unpredictable. It is going on three months of shutdown in our country and is devastating our lives and industry. I believe we should open up and get back to our lives.

Thinking of others and their loved ones is always on one’s mind. No one said if you’re scared you have to go back out in the world, but you can’t live scared all your life and live in fear in your home. It’s your decision.

Personally, I don’t trust Dr. Anthony Fauci. He has changed his mind too often on conditions of this virus: Don’t wear a mask/wear a mask, go into the public/don’t go in the public, etc. Sometimes I wonder if the Democrats don’t have him in their back pocket because of the forthcoming election in November.

Our economy and businesses are going under so when people want to open their businesses, using safeguards, they should be able to. It doesn’t mean you have to go to support them, that is your choice. I understand why small business owners are concerned when Walmart, Amazon, Target, etc., can be open and a small business, say, a clothing store, has to be closed.

Our essential business employees are out there every day risking their health to provide for scared people. They don’t see extra funds when their business has slowed but they have to pay their bills and keep working. Many people who are laid off make out better than when they were working.

Where is the extra help for seniors at this time? Business needs to open to relieve the financial burden on our country. The unemployed, in some cases, won’t want to go back until they have depleted their unemployment.

When protesters come in peace to demonstrations to reopen our country, some with semiautomatic rifles, they are also defending their rights of the American to bear arms. Our rights are being challenged every day. This country is changing so much from 40 years ago it is more scary than the pandemic at times.

And when you hear of the troubled times for our farmers, who, to me, are the heartbeat of economy while providing us with food, we need to support them even more.

We need to open up, be aware, take precautions. We all know the dangers. May God bless our beautiful country and live the way “We the People” feel it fits.
