    Lady Owl golfers win mega match

    BRADFORD — Bradford’s Payton Leet shot a 40 to earn medalist honors and help lead the Lady Owls to a win in Monday’s Mega Match at Pine Acres.

    Also for Bradford, Cecily Bell shot a 53 and Lilian Erickson a 55.

    Oswayo Valley followed with a 161, Cameron County 174 and Coudersport 233.

    For OV, Rylee Thompson shot a 44, Rachel Rathbun 54 and Shayden Mesler 58.

    For Cameron County, Maggie Abriatis shot 45, Addison Vasko 61 and Skylar Stevens 68.

    For Coudersport, Taylor Grossman shot 74, Autumn Haggard 77 and Lydia Tingley 82.

    BOYS GOLF

    ST. MARYS 209, BRADFORD 226

    ST. MARYS — Bradford dropped a 209-226 decision to St. Marys in boys’ golf action.

    The 226 was the second-best score of the year for the Owls.

    “Today our penalty strokes hurt us, but we had excellent recovery shots,” said Bradford coach Travis Faulkner. “The kids are thinking better on the course.”

    Tarren Reese once again led the Owls, carding a 40. He birdied No. 18 and had three pars and five bogeys.

    “He continues to impress us with smart play and good putting,” Faulkner said.

    Jamin Bell shot a season-low 46 with two pars.

    “He is getting better every time out,” Faulkner said. “

    Alex Pilon and AJ Lama both shot 46s.

    “They both had good holes, but let a few holes get away from them,” Faulkner said.

    Danny Marasco, Mitchell Brinsky and Declan Smith each shot 49s. Smith had a birdie on No. 18.

    The Owls return to action Wednesday, hosting Kane at the Pennhills Club.

    SMETHPORT 216, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 219

    ST. MARYS — Levi Howard shot a 40 to earn medalist honors and lead Smethport to a tight 216-219 win over Elk County Catholic.

    Also for the Hubbers, Colin Riekofsky shot a 42, Colin Okerlund a 44 and Jack Sherry and Alex Schott each shot 45.

    For Elk County Catholic, Charlie Geci and Christian Sloff each shot 43s, Lance O’Neil and Sam Rettger 44s and Jake Wasko 45.

    OSWAYO VALLEY 28.5, COUDERSPORT 26.5

    COUDERSPORT — Lawson Wetzel shot a 45 to earn medalist honors for Coudersport, but it was Oswayo Valley that came away with a close 28.5, 26.5 win on Monday.

    For Oswayo Valley, Jared Obenrader carded a 48, Landon Francis a 49, Conner Resig a 50, Hunter Worthington 51, Luke Karr 59 and Isaiah Goode 69.

    In addition to Wetzel, Evan Greeley shot a 49 for Coudy, while Kelby Streich had a 52, Parker Sherry 54 and Chase Wahlers 55.
