The Adelphia Communications Corp.’s Coudersport headquarters has
been sold to the highest bidder at ,3.6 million – a small fraction
of its ,30 million value.
The online auction through LFC Online ended on Feb. 20, and the
sale on the building closed on Friday, according to Ashley
Carvahlo, public relations associate with LFC.
The Potter County Recorder of Deeds’ office has the buyer listed
as Klek Development Corp., 23356 Elm Road, Lincolnshire, Ill. No
phone number was listed for the agency, nor was any immediately
found in an Internet search.
An e-mail sent to company contact Klek Bogdan was not
immediately returned.
There were three bidders in this second auction for the
building. Bidding started at ,3,100,000. The first auction ended in
the buyer defaulting when he couldn’t raise the money, according to
LFC.
LFC has sold and closed more than 60 other properties in
Adelphia’s real estate portfolio after the company’s bankruptcy and
liquidation.
The property, located at 102 S. Main St., was never fully
occupied. The 72,000-square-foot, four-story building was completed
in 2004 – after the company filed for bankruptcy.
The building, which is designed to accommodate 275 employees,
has a granite exterior and bronzed windows, according to the LFC
Web site. The interior of the building has brass, bronze, granite,
and parquet flooring throughout.
The property also includes about 80,000 sq. ft. of asphalt
parking or 258 parking spaces across four different lots, according
to LFC.
