Patricia McGinnis

WESTMINSTER, Colo. — C. Patricia McGinnis, a longtime resident of Bradford, Pa., and Westminster, passed away Sunday (May 31, 2026), leaving behind a legacy of generosity, friendship and a deep love for her family and community.

Born March 25, 1935, in Bradford, Patricia was the daughter of Lloyd and Ruth Flynn Brown. On Sept. 18, 1954, she married her high school sweetheart, Roland McGinnis, with whom she shared a beautiful life until his passing Dec. 1, 2001.

Patricia graduated from Bradford High School in 1953 and attended the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. She enjoyed a successful 32-year career with Pennzoil Co. before retiring in 1990.

Patricia dedicated much of her life to enriching the community around her. She was an active member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Christian Women’s Club and Widowed Men & Women of America. Her generous spirit was evident in her years of volunteer work at both St. Anthony’s North Hospital and North Suburban Hospital, where she was celebrated as “Volunteer of the Year.”

Patricia approached life with curiosity and enthusiasm. She loved to travel, explore new places and experience every corner of the world. Through church activities, volunteer work, book clubs, card groups, exercise classes and countless friendships, she built a vibrant community that brought her great joy throughout her life and kept her calendar full.

Patricia also treasured the simple routines and traditions that kept her connected to family, whether spending time with her sons, gathering for holidays or catching up with loved ones near and far. An avid reader throughout her life, some of her favorite conversations in recent years were sharing books and stories with her beloved granddaughters.

In addition to her husband, Roland, Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Ruth Flynn Brown; her sister, Roseann Klussman; her brother Lloyd Brown Jr.; and sister, Donna Kay Gocella.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her two sons, Michael McGinnis of Idaho Springs and Matthew McGinnis of Westminster; her two granddaughters, Kate (Erfan) Parvez of Silver Spring, Md., and Mollie (Craig) Wisbauer of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and her great-grandson, Rowan Parvez.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or your organization of choice.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at The Good Shepherd Methodist Church, 3960 E. 128th Ave., Thornton, CO 80241. A lunch reception will follow at the church.
