Raymond Casper
Raymond J. Casper, 84, of Bradford passed away Tuesday (July 8, 2025) at Bradford Manor.
He was born Feb. 2, 1941, in Buffalo, N.Y., a son of the late Paul J. Casper and Arlene Dryer Payne.
He was a 1959 graduate of Bradford Area High School.
On Aug. 5, 1972, at the former Mission Covenant Church in Bradford, he married Laura A. Heffner, who survives.
He was a 32nd degree member of FA&M and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was an avid hunter who loved watching “Jeopardy!” Ray was a social person who never met someone that he wouldn’t talk to.
He was employed by the former Airco Speer for 14 years prior to joining the McKean County Sheriff’s Department where he worked for 20 years as a deputy sheriff. He finally retired in 2008 from the Zippo Manufacturing Co. Inc. where he worked as a security guard for 12 years.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, Laura Casper of Bradford, he is survived by one brother, Richard Casper of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
