SMETHPORT — Gerald Vaughn, 77, of Eldred passed away Thursday (June 19, 2025) at Sena Kean Manor.

He was born July 9, 1947, in Olean, N.Y., a son of Edward G. and Marie (Baker) Vaughn. On Sept. 4, 1971, in Smethport he married Alice J. Burdick, who survives.

Mr. Vaughn was a graduate of Otto-Eldred High School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Vaughn was an equipment operator, employed by Plants and Goodwin Inc. of Bradford.

He enjoyed his Harley-Davidson, hunting, fishing and Friday night golf.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Noreen (David) Mills of Bradenton, Fla., and Natasha (Jason) Smith of Danville; one son, Guy (Frank) Vaughn of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three grandsons, Dylan (Ana) and Isaac Smith and Austin Mills; one brother, Terry (Debra) Vaughn of Eldred; and one sister; Pam Griffith of Eldred.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (June 27, 2025) at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., with the Rev. Max Simms officiating.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
