Police arrest suspect in church burglaries
Bradford City Police Department announced Michael J. Keller was taken into custody Monday in connection with a string of recent burglaries at First Presbyterian Church.
Police allege Keller, 51, unlawfully entered the church on three separate occasions — June 13, 15 and 16 — using a set of stolen keys. In response to the repeated incidents, Bradford police initiated an investigation, including the deployment of multiple cellular trail cameras inside the church on Monday afternoon.
Video and still images from the surveillance footage capture Keller at 11:09 p.m. bypassing two secured doors, gaining access to the church office and removing two checkbooks before leaving, according to police. Officers apprehended Keller on Tuesday without incident.
Keller is charged with burglary and criminal trespass, both second-degree felonies; and theft, a second-degree misdemeanor.
He was arraigned by District Judge Bill Todd and remanded to the McKean County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
