BLAZE SCHLEICHER is a senior in the carpentry program who chose this path because of the wide range of career opportunities available in the construction industry. He enjoys the hands-on nature of carpentry and appreciates that no two days are the same. Blaze is especially interested in framing and foundation work. This year, Blaze took advantage of the co-op program by working with Bob Cummins Construction. His goal was to gain real world experience, develop new skills and earn money — all while finishing his senior year. He said he is incredibly grateful for the opportunity and proud of how much he has learned throughout the year. During his time at Bob Cummins Construction, Blaze gained experience in a variety of areas. He learned how to shoot elevations with a laser, work with concrete forms and construct a variety of projects in the shop.
