WYATT BOND is a senior in the Machine Technology program. After completing his NIMS certification in the classroom, Bond began working at Allegheny Bradford Corp. for co-op. While at work, he makes parts using a CNC lathe and has also learned how to cut tubing and run a CNC mill.
“There are so many things that I like about doing co-op at ABC. Everyone is helpful, and I’m learning how to run the machines, as well as change and make programs,” Bond said.
After graduation, he hopes to continue to work at ABC full time for a few years and then possibly become a state trooper.

MAYLA SMITH is a junior in the Early Childhood Education program. She completes her co-op placement hours at Growing with Grace Preschool. While working as a teacher’s assistant in the preschool classroom, Smith helps with the morning meeting, snack time, crafts and weekly themed lessons. She also reads books to the children and works with them on ABCs and 123s.
“There are so many reasons that I love working at Growing with Grace,” Smith said. “The staff is wonderful because they are always there when you need them. Also, I have learned so much about how to work with students at different levels. Most importantly, the students can always put a smile on my face no matter what.”
After graduation, she plans to attend either the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford or Edinboro University for early childhood education.

ANNA MAZZONE is a junior in the Childcare program. She completed her co-op placement at ABC Grow with Me.
“At ABC Grow with Me, I worked with wonderful children of all ages, but mostly ages 1 to 2. I learned how to help children speak their voice, what milestones they can reach, and I also helped potty train. I’ve also learned how fast children grow, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. It’s amazing and something that makes you feel sentimental and also proud because you feel as if you are a part of it. My favorite thing about doing co-op is the children. Being at ABC is not just a job, it makes you feel loved by so many people, the children mostly. At first it’s hard because you are a stranger, but once they get to know and trust you, they love you so much. I love when I get there and the children run up to me and say ‘Miss Anna, you’re here.’ It’s so nice of them and it makes me feel so loved.”
Mazzone plans to work at ABC Grow with Me over the summer and continue co-op there next year during her senior year of high school.
