The latest additions to the 2024 Big 30 game have been announced, with five players added to both the Pennsylvania and New York rosters.
Among those players are two each from Port Allegany and Portville.
Details on the players are below:
Carmine Hoag
Salamanca High School
Height: 6’1” — Weight: 190 Lbs.
Offense: WR — Defense: OLB
Carmine plans to attend college and major in Business. He would also like to continue playing football at a higher level. He wants to play in the Big30 Game to see where he matches up with the other players and see what he can learn and improve on. He is also excited to see what different coaches will be like. His most memorable moment playing football was winning a sectional title with his friends that he grew up with. His hobbies include fishing, jet skiing and weightlifting. His favorite football team is the Salamanca Warriors, and his favorite player is himself.
Bo Wendel
Southwestern High School
Height: 5’10” — Weight: 160 Lbs.
Offense: FB — Defense: LB
Bo plans to attend college and major in Engineering. He was voted MVP of his football team and is a member of the National Honor Society. He is excited to play in the Big 30 game because he has watched many of his role models play in the game. His most memorable football game was beating Fredonia at their own field. His hobbies include scuba diving and hanging out with friends. His favorite NFL team is the Buffalo Bills, or the Florida St. Seminoles and his favorite player is Josh Allen.
Kaedon Holcomb
Portville Central School
Height: 5’6” — Weight: 160 Lbs.
Offense: RB — Defense: LB
Kardon will attend Southeast Lineman Training Center in Georgia to become an Electrical Lineman. He was named 1st team All-State and Scholar Athlete. He was named Section 6 Class C Offensive Player of the Year, 3rd team All-WNY, Section VI Class C 1st team and has been a multi–Connolly Cup Nominee. He also holds the school touchdown record and is a member of the National Honor Society. He is excited to play in the Big 30 game because of all his family members who have played in the game. Kaedon’s Grampa, Uncles (Joe-Chet Holcomb) great Uncle’s etc. His most memorable football memory was breaking the school touchdown record. His hobbies include: hunting and riding side by sides. His favorite NFL team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Cole Holcomb (cousin who plays for the Steelers.)
Nik Manroe
Portville Central School
Height: 6’3” — Weight: 200 Lbs.
Offense: T — Defense: DE
Nik plans to attend Lineman school in Georgia. He has been an honor roll student and high honor roll student all through his high school career. He has won the Cross Training Athletic Character Award and was named to the Chautauqua Cattaraugus Athletic Association 1st and second team selections. He states it’s always been his goal to play in the Big 30 game and then later to coach the Pa side. His most memorable moment was winning the Newfane game in the playoffs. His hobbies include hunting, fishing and skiing. His favorite NFL team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Jason Kelce.
Ethan Coleman
Cuba-Rushford High School
Height: 5’10” — Weight: 160 Lbs.
Offense: RB/WR — Defense: LB/DB
Ethan plans to attend school at SLTC Lineman Training Center in Trenton Georgia. He was named all-Big 30 in Wrestling and in football. He was named M.O.W. for wrestling at Class Tournament, Ken-Ton, Portville and achieved 100 victories in wrestling. He states the Big 30 game sounds like fun, and he’ll never get another opportunity like this again. His favorite moment in football was scoring the winning touchdown in the Newfane game. He lists his only hobby as sports. His favorite NFL team is the Buffalo Bills, and his favorite player is Jordan Poyer.
Levi Wilfong
Port Allegany High School
Height: 5’11” — Weight: 185 Lbs.
Offense: C — Defense: DE
Levi will be attending Penn State University at University Park to major in Pre-Medicine in the fall of 2024. He is president of the National Honor Society, Varsity Club Vice President, Student Council Secretary and Peer helpers Secretary. He is looking forward to playing one more game of football with his best friends. His favorite football moments were practicing on snow covered fields. His favorite hobby is golfing. Levi’s favorite NFL team is the New York Giants, and his favorite player is Saquan Barkley.
Matthew Davis
St. Mary’s Area High School
Height: 5’8” — Weight: 180 Lbs.
Offense: RB — Defense: LB
Matthew plans on attending a four-year college and major in Criminal Justice. He would also like to continue playing football in school. He was named his teams MVP and Offensive MVP, D-9 1st team at Running back, 2nd team at linebacker, Tri-County 1st team. He was named 2 time All-Region at Running back and Linebacker. He was named team captain and YDL Player of the Week. In addition: he is as a high honors student and a 2-year member of the National Honor Society. He wants to play in the Big 30 Game because of the lasting memories it will create and its one last chance to play one more high school football game with talented players. He states: it’s an honor to be selected and can’t wait to play. His favorite memory playing football was rushing for 320 yards and two touchdowns on senior night and getting the win as well. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, watching movies and sports and reading his bible and working out. Also, hanging out with friends and family. His favorite football teams are the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio state Buckeyes, and his favorite player is C.J. Stroud.
James M. Liller Jr.
Coudersport Area High School
Height: 5’11” — Weight: 270 Lbs.
Offense: N/A — Defense: DT
James plans to enter the work force after high school. He was named Lineman of the Year at CAHS. He was also named lineman of the week against Brockway, Cameron County and Sheffield. He was also team captain and a D-9 offensive lineman selection. He just wants to give it all he has for one final game and just have fun overall. His favorite memories were the locker room before the games getting ready to play with my team and the experience with them. His hobbies are working, playing video games, gym, FFA and hanging out with friends. His favorite NFL team is the Atlanta Falcons, and his favorite player is T.J. Watt.
Johnny Corbett
Warren Area High School, Dragons
Height: 5’11” — Weight: 155 Lbs.
Offense: WR — Defense: CB
His goals after graduation are to become an Electrician, get married and have kids. He was an Iron Man and Special Teams Player of the Year at WAHS. He wants to play in the Big 30 Game for the love of football and to have another last football game experience. His best football memory was his pick 6 against Mercyhurst his junior year. His hobbies include video games, riding and lifting. His favorite NFL
team is the Baltimore Ravens, and his favorite player is Odell Beckham Jr.
Peyton Stiles
Port Allegany High School
Height: 5’9” — Weight: 160 Lbs.
Offense: HB — Defense: OLB
Peyton will attend Robert Morris University and major in Sports Managment. He was named to the Big 30 Offensive All-Stars, a 2-time region 2 all-star and a member of the National Honor Society. He says: the Big 30 game gives him one last chance to play football and make memories with some of his best friends. His favorite memory playing football was winning the D-9 Championship in his junior year. His spare time consists of hanging out with friends and watching movies and likes to eat food. His favorite NFL team is the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his favorite player is George Pickens.
