ST. MARYS — A St. Marys man was found dead near a culvert on West Center Street in Johnsonburg at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, reported Elk County Coroner Michelle Muccio-Krise.
Benjamin E. Meyer, 43, had died from “hypertrophic cardiomyopathy complicated by chronic drug use,” Muccio-Krise said Monday, after an autopsy had been conducted. “Final toxicology reports are pending and will be updated when they become available.”
When Meyer’s body was found, the coroner had stated that he had “no significant wounds or injuries.” The investigation continues by Johnsonburg Borough Police and the coroner’s office.
