KANE — The Lutheran Home at Kane announced its training program for certified nursing assistants was recently approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The Lutheran Home will pay interested students to obtain their certification with the agreement of guaranteed employment once the student successfully passes the Pennsylvania state certification exam.
Students will receive in-person, hands-on training at the Lutheran Home at Kane. The classroom has been approved to accommodate 10 students. Each student must meet the required hours of clinical and classroom experience.
“We are excited to offer this program to the area. It’s a win-win — it gives interested individuals the opportunity to obtain their certification, provides additional staffing to care for our residents, and provides an economic impact to our community,” said Charlotte Floravit, chief executive officer at The Lutheran Home at Kane. “I am thrilled to have four of our Nursing Leadership Team members certified to teach our classes, ensuring we always have someone available for future classes.”
Applications are being accepted until Dec. 19 for The Lutheran Home’s first class, which has been scheduled to run Jan. 4 to 26. For more information, call Dawn Bigley, HR director, at (814) 975-1257 or email dawnb@lutheranhomekane.org.
