MOUNT JEWETT — Kinzua Bridge State Park looks forward to seeing visitors well into the middle of November and is offering a variety of programs for all to enjoy. Staff reminds visitors to dress for the weather as all programs are held outdoors, unless noted elsewhere.

At 11 a.m. on Oct. 28, staff will be available to explore the myths about bats. Do they want to get in your hair? What to do if a bat is in my house? Stop by the classroom in the visitor center to find out.

Then, at noon on Nov. 11, come to the park for “What is Veterans’ Day?” This is a short lecture near the flagpole that is meant to help visitors discover the history behind Veterans’ Day. When did we start celebrating it? Why are we celebrating it? Everyone is welcome to attend, Veterans are encouraged and welcome.

Finally, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 12, the sled dogs return with their dry-land equipment to the park for a Dry Land Event. Come check out the timed event and demonstrations — You don’t want to miss it! And, Drifter will be here, he’s over a year old now and will participate in his first pull here at the park.
