McKean County is back in the low risk category for the spread of COVID-19, but Elk County is now listed at medium risk.
According to the state Department of Health, on Tuesday, there were 21 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in McKean County for a cumulative total of 9,045. In one week, from Aug. 30 to Sept. 6, there were 77 new cases recorded. In the past month, there were 294 new cases. Since the beginning of the year, there have been 2,687 new cases.
McKean County’s infection rate was .70, ranking it 57th out of all Pennsylvania counties.
As for vaccines, 57.1% of county residents had at least one dose, while 46.9% were fully vaccinated.
In Elk County, there were 17 new cases recorded on Tuesday for a cumulative total of 7,895. In the prior week’s time, there were 49 new cases, in a month, 206 cases, and since the beginning of the year, 2,509 cases.
Elk County was ranked 63rd with an infection rate of .67.
As for vaccines, 62.1% of county residents had at least one dose, while 56.1% were fully vaccinated.
In Potter County, there were five new cases as of Tuesday for a total of 3,542. In the past week, there were 21 new cases, in a month, 85 cases, and since the beginning of the year, 952.
Potter County was ranked 14th with an infection rate of .85.
As for vaccines, 45.4% of county residents had at least one dose, while 38.1% were fully vaccinated.
In Cameron County, there were no new cases on Tuesday, with a cumulative total of 920. In a week’s time, there were two new cases, in a month’s time, 19 cases, and since the beginning of the year, 270.
The county, due to its low population, had the highest infection rate among all Pennsylvania counties at 1.20.
As for vaccines, 60.5% of county residents had at least one vaccine dose, while 55.4% were fully vaccinated.
The health department breaks down the data by legislative district, showing that for the state Senate, the 25th District of Sen. Cris Dush, R-Brookville, has the lowest percentage of constituents fully vaccinated at 41.8%. The highest, at 78.1%, is the 17th District of Amanda Cappelletti, D-East Norriton.
In the state House, the 65th District of Rep. Martin Causer, R-Turtlepoint, is 6th from the lowest at 42.5%. In 50th place is the 75th District of Rep. Mike Armanini, R-DuBois, at 54.2%.
The most vaccinated district is the 167th of Rep. Kristine Howard, D-Malvern.
In the U.S. House, the 15th of Congressman Glenn Thompson, R-Pa., is third from the bottom at 50.5% of constituents fully vaccinated. The most vaccinated district is the 4th of Rep. Madeleine Dean, D-Jenkintown.
