Bradford Creative and Performing Arts Center is busily preparing for the first of their Summer Tribute concerts with the world’s premier Sir Paul McCartney concert experience, The McCartney Years, on June 10, 7:30 p.m. at the Bromeley Family Theater on the University of Pitt-Bradford campus.
Hailed by original Beatles promoter Sid Bernstein as “the best on the scene,” The McCartney Years is a period-true, technically stunning and explosive live concert show that performs the music of Paul McCartney spanning two decades from the Beatles to Wings.
Songs include hits like “Hey Jude,” “Jet,” “Let It Be,” “Band On The Run,” “The Long And Winding Road,” “Live And Let Die,” “Lady Madonna” and more, plus some of the deep cuts that McCartney wrote during the 1960s and 1970s; all performed to their original arrangements by a band that has entertained audiences worldwide and even has a personal accolade from Paul McCartney and Wings guitarist Denny Laine. Guaranteed audiences will jump out of their seats to clap, sing and dance to the music by one of the most prolific artists of all time in this authentic, timeless live concert experience.
“The McCartney Years first played on the Bradford stage in 2016 with such an overwhelming response, we decided to bring them back, especially considering this is Paul McCartney’s 80th birthday year,” said Darren Litz, executive director for BCPAC.
Sir James Paul McCartney, an English singer, songwriter, and musician who gained worldwide fame as co-lead vocalist, co-songwriter, and bassist for the Beatles turns 80 years old on June 18. The Beatles were regarded as the most influential band of all time and were integral to the development of 1960s counterculture and popular music’s recognition as an art form.
This is a great way to kick off our Summer Tribute series this year, said Litz. “Patrons will love the throw backs with The McCartney Years, Bee Gees Gold, and Tapestry-A Tribute to Carole King,” Litz said.
Tickets are going fast for all three concerts, but are still available online at bcpac.com, by calling (814) 362-2522 or stopping by the BCPAC ticket office at 119 Main St. in Bradford.
