After a short delay due to paper shortages, the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce has released their debut 2022 Community Guide.
“A lot of communities have a guide which tells the story about their community and also shares the member directory of their businesses and we wanted to pursue that for Bradford,” said chamber Executive Director Heidi Scrivo-Passmore. “We felt like the guide is something which could really inform people about all that Bradford has to offer.”
This multipurpose guide covers community attributes such as education, healthcare, the arts, area history of the oilfields and history of manufacturing, as well as listing area businesses, government, community events — “and all the positive things that exemplify Bradford,” said Passmore. Information about tourist attractions, local parks and the airport are also included in the guide.
“This guide is something that, for example, our local businesses can use when they are recruiting someone that is looking to come to the area,” explained Passmore. “It is something that tourists can use to learn more about Bradford and also to find businesses to visit while they are in the area.”
According to Passmore, there are currently only a limited number of the printed version of the Community Guide available, which can be picked up at the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce office, 121 Main Street. However, rack cards with a QR code that once scanned will direct individuals to an online version of the Community Guide are available in abundance and will be placed at area businesses throughout Bradford.
The online version is set up as a flipbook for easy browsing, according to Passmore. Another benefit of the online version is its ability to be updated regularly (to add new businesses or change member information,) unlike the hard copy.
The hard copy of the Community Guide will be updated every 12 to 18 months, said Passmore.
“So if you’re someone who is in Bradford for the weekend and you aren’t able to stop somewhere the book is available you can just go to our website and view it in its entirety,” said Passmore.
