ZIPPO: Zippo has officially set the record for the world’s largest Zippo lighter, according to the World Record Academy.

This record breaking lighter can be seen at any time, day or night, sitting atop the Zippo/Case Museum and Flagship Store’s entrance, at 1932 Zippo Drive.

The Zippo/ Case Museum and Flagship store is a 15,000 square foot attraction which includes the world famous Zippo Repair Clinic. As well as the 40-foot Zippo lighter atop the entrance there is also an enormous Case Canoe three-blade pocket knife. Along Zippo Drive, which guides patrons to the front doors of the store there are 14 custom-made Zippo street lighters.

The first Zippo museum opened in 1993 and was named the Zippo Family Store and Museum.

Being quite small, this first museum quickly proved inadequate to satisfy the passions of collectors and curiosity of tourists. So in 1995, plans were initiated for a brand new and vastly expanded museum and store front. After two years of planning, demolition and construction the grand opening of the Zippo/Case Visitors Center took place on July 18, 1996 — which happened to coincide with Zippo’s 65th anniversary celebration. That same year, at the Zippo/Case International Swap Meet more than 8,000 visitors from all around the globe attended the event and visited the brand new museum and store.

Flash forward, and the Zippo/Case Museum and Flagship Store now hosts more than 100,000 visitors annually. Tourists, collectors and the simply curious travel from all around the United States and the globe, including Japan, Korea, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Brazil and many many more.
