KANE MANOR: Once again we would like to give a shout out to Pennsylvania Magazine. In the May/June edition, there is a two-page spread that features one of our area’s longest standing national historical mansions.
The Kane Manor Inn is now a bed and breakfast and under new ownership, according to the article.
Debra and Ben Miller purchased the property during the COVID pandemic, after enjoying the downtown area and the warmth from the community, it was an easy decision for the couple to make. The couple have been busy with much-needed renovations and special projects, but the inn, with rooms in both the manor house and the guest house property, is ready for visitors.
According to the article, guests will enjoy accommodations such as refrigerators, microwaves, and ensuite bathrooms in all rooms of the guest house; and in the manor house, each room includes cable TV, high-speed internet, and private ensuite baths. All guests are invited to a freshly prepared breakfast daily.
Linda Feltman, author of the article, has been visiting the manor over the years. Her last visit was in 2013. She tells readers, in the introduction of the piece, that in her travels, there have been three owners — a new one each time she visits. But, this transition, according to the Millers, was seamless.
Feltman reports that the couple have found many historical pieces during the cleanup and renovation. The pieces will be preserved and on display throughout the bed and breakfast for all the guests to see. This is a way to keep the Kane’s family story and their accomplishments within the home and the community.
If you get the chance, make a reservation for this local inn. And, don’t forget to read the full story in Pennsylvania Magazine.
