SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY: Today, from WalletHub, we share with readers some facts and stats about Easter that we found interesting and think that you will as well — especially if you are still gathering up what you need for Easter this Sunday.
According to the survey, people plan to spend more this year; 45 percent of Americans are planning to spend more on Easter this year than in 2021. A total of $20.8 Billion in Easter-related spending is expected in 2022, that is $170 per person celebrating. But only $3 Billion of that is projected to be spent on candy. What else is there but candy on Easter, you might ask yourself. Think about the extras like stuffies in the Easter basket, church donations, travel expenses, and what’s for dinner and the cost begins to add up.
Another fun fact: the price of the world’s most expensive chocolate Easter bunny is $49,000, and we bet the person who receives this one is among the 78 percent of people who eat the ears first. In the U.S. there are 91 million chocolate bunnies sold each year for Easter and the chocolate bunny ranks first on the most popular item in an Easter basket.
This year, more people plan to celebrate in person this year. Americans are 15 percent more likely to celebrate Easter with friends and family compared to last year. And for parents whose children have gone off to college or otherwise moved away, 60 percent of them still plan on sending Easter baskets.
Do you have your ducks in a row for the holiday? Easter is fast approaching and many are scrambling to pick up eggs for coloring, chocolates from the bunny, and the ham for dinner.
