AUSTIN — Katie Sheeler matched Austin’s offensive output on her own, scoring 22 points to lead the Otto-Eldred girls basketball team over the Lady Panthers, 43-22, in Wednesday’s North Tier League action.

Sheeler added four steals, three assists and three steals to round out her stat line. She got help from an array of teammates, as Bri Heller recorded four points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Brooke Close added six steals and two points, while Anna Merry had four points, four steals and two assists, and Carrie Drummond tacked on six points and five rebounds.

“Hopefully, we’re looking ahead a little bit to the games we have coming up, because we didn’t play great,” O-E coach Shawn Gray said. “We did get extended minutes for all 12 players once again tonight.”

Ella Brewer added 10 points for Austin.

GALETON — Strong defense and a double-double from Elizabeth Hungiville led Smethport to a road win.

Coryn McClain had eight points, eight boards and three steals while Sabrina Tanner had four points, four rebounds, four assists and five steals.

“I thought we came out a little sluggish in the first half,” said Smethport coach Chad Goodman. “Second half we stressed picking up the pressure on defense. On defense I thought we did a tremendous job in the second half. Took control of the game, dominating the boards in the second half.
