Bradford, Kane and Smethport were all celebrated on the Travel Awaits website. Linda said, “The ANFVB hosted a travel writer this fall — Robin Smith. Bradford made Number 7 on the list of Pennsylvania Hallmark Christmas Movie Towns.
“It is a Hallmark-type town where people say ‘hello’ and the shopkeepers know your name. Bradford celebrates each year with twinkling white lights and a sprinkle of snowflakes decorating the town — and, of course, the Old Fashioned Christmas celebration downtown.”
Kane made Number 7 on the list of Lesser Known Towns Around the World Our Writers Love.
“Thanks to the local forests, Kane has fresh air and low pollen counts in summer. Kane is also often referred to as the ‘Icebox of Pennsylvania’ due to the cold temperatures and an average snowfall of 105 Inches. My advice…don’t visit in winter unless you love the cold,” Robin warned readers.
Smethport is Number 2 on the list of Stories Behind the Most Haunted Places in Pennsylvania.
It’s the Old Jail Museum, of course.
“A spirit is said to haunt the dungeon, and this ghostly resident is thought to be a former inmate. He was supposedly one of several prisoners executed in the cellar of the building. He claimed to be innocent, and right before his execution, he threatened to haunt the building. ”
