DUKE CENTER — Cameron County opened scoring but Otto-Eldred finished it, claiming a 28-8 victory Friday.
Cameron County’s Lathan Reed ran five yards for a touchdown at the start of the first quarter. The two-point conversion was unsuccessful, leaving Cameron County ahead 6-0. O-E’s Gavin Jimerson ran for a one-yard touchdown less than three minutes into the first quarter, and Chance Palmer raced into the endzone for a successful two-point conversion, putting O-E ahead 8-6.
The second quarter saw both teams relying on defense and preventing any more points on the scoreboard. In the third quarter, however, Otto-Eldred’s Ryan Love ran three yards for a touchdown, with an unsuccessful two-point conversion attempt, making the score Otto-Eldred 14, Cameron County 6. The next score came at the 3:50 mark in the third, with Jimerson dropping a pass into Max Splain’s arms from 30 yards out for the touchdown. A safety and a 20-yard run by Jimerson put O-E’s final points on the board, while Cameron County claimed two points on a safety at the 4:40 mark to make the final Otto-Eldred 28, Cameron County 8.

NEW BETHLEHEM — Redbank Valley used a high-scoring second quarter to cement a 51-0 shutout of Elk County Catholic Friday.
Ray Schreckengost recorded 112 yards on 14 carries and was responsible for three touchdowns to lead Redbank Valley.
Redbank Valley opened scoring with an 11-yard return by Brandon Ross for a touchdown, followed by a successful two-point conversion.
Schreckengost scored his first touchdown in the second quarter with 8:19 to go on a three-yard run, followed by another successful two-point conversion as Gunner Mangiantini found Brenden Schreckengost in the endzone.
The other points in the second quarter came on a one-yard run by Ray Schreckengost, a 61-yard pass from Bryson Bain to Tate Minich and a 10-yard carry by Bain.
Redbank Valley scored two more times in the third before leaving the scoreboard idle for the fourth quarter.
