Miss seeing live music and art by local artisans? See a number of Pennsylvania artists at Austin Dam Memorial Park this July.
A Gathering of the Artist will be held July 15-25 at Austin Dam Memorial Park. The gathering — a chainsaw carving event as well as a music and camping festival — will last through July 25. Food and craft vendors will be on hand, too.
Several musicians are slated to perform throughout the festival.
Feature bands include Diggin’ Roots Band, Ear Bleeding Country, The Woodshed Prophets, Drednecks, High Pines, Canibannoyeds, Thunderskulls and Whitefeather Band. Attendees will also see singer-songwriter performances by Allan Combs II, Wes Knorr, Dan Roach, Billy Mac, Steve Kirsch, Dave Paul, Benjamin James Elliot, Whitefeather, Chris Ross and Blair Heimel.
Carving artists scheduled to attend are Shawn Ahearn, Jeff Donoughe, Doug Ryan, Dale Felice, Thomas Hirtz, Scott Jackson and K & S Ironworks.
To purchase tickets or get more information, visit www.ahearns.site. Children 15 and under can attend free with a parent. A schedule of entertainment and listing of artisans and food vendors can be found there, too.
According to the website, organizers initially held a three-day Gathering of the Artist in 2020 with the goal of helping Pennsylvania artists who were not able to show their work because of the pandemic.
“We all needed to get out & see other people. The whole world had all been stuck at home for months,” organizers said of the pandemic.
All proceeds from the 2020 event were donated back to the artists and venue, according to organizers.
