REMEMBER: Bradford resident Donald Neal shared a poem with us today that is appropriate for Memorial Day.

Remember The Heroes

They came from farms, small towns, and big cities,

They answered their nation’s call.

Young men, and women, of all nationalities,

For freedom some would give their all.

They served on land, on the sea, or in the air,

Their lives at risk every moment of every day.

They fought the enemies of our country,

Who would try to take our freedoms away.

They are just ordinary people,

Who would lay their lives on the line.

To protect the ones they held dear,

And the freedoms that are yours and mine.

We must all think of the sacrifice made by our military,

Leaving their loved ones to go and fight.

And the mothers and fathers who let them go,

Who pray for their safety every night.

May we never forget they are heroes,

Though the job they are doing may be small.

They are the men and women in our military,

And for freedom they would give their all.

Everyone who is serving or has served,

And the ones who died so we could stay free.

May we always remember they are heroes.

They deserve the dignity.

Remember them in your prayers tonight,

And hold them close in your heart.

They are all classed as heroes, for freedom they are doing their part.
