MOUNT JEWETT — On Wednesday, members of the Mount Jewett Rotary Club officially presented the Mount Jewett Memorial Library with a $3,000 check as the first donation to the library’s endowment fund. The club has also pledged an additional $1,000 in matching funds.

The Mount Jewett Memorial Library is creating an endowment fund with the assistance of Dave Seipp of the Hamlin Bank Trust Department and Erik Ross of Woods Baker & Ross. The goal of the fund is to ensure financial stability and maintain the library’s ability to provide services to Mount Jewett and the surrounding area for many years to come. Receiving the checks from the Mount Jewett Rotary Club were Library Director Angela Cornelius and Library Board President Megan Inghram.

In addition to the $3,000 donation, the Mount Jewett Rotary is challenging others to contribute to the fund. The club will match the next $1,000 donated to the library’s endowment fund dollar for dollar. Donations to the library’s general or endowment fund can be dropped off during normal hours or mailed to Mt Jewett Library, P.O. Box Y, Mount Jewett, PA 16740.

The Mount Jewett Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. at the Barrel House Restaurant.
