A number of people appeared for preliminary hearings Monday in McKean County including a Port Allegany man who is accused of providing drugs to two juveniles and running from police.
Thomas D. Ford, 39, of Port Allegany, had two cases against him bound to McKean County Court at a preliminary hearing before District Judge William Todd.
According to the criminal complaint, in one case, he is accused of providing psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana to two juveniles and cigarettes to one of the juveniles. He also allegedly broke into an empty apartment to smoke marijuana with them.
In the second case, he is accused of fleeing on foot from officers who were trying to arrest him on a warrant, and he was in possession of about 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, .6 grams of ecstasy and drug paraphernalia, the criminal complaint states.
Ford is in McKean County Jail in lieu of a total of $60,000 in the two cases.
Also on Monday, Douglas S. Walczak Jr., 36, of Erie, waived a preliminary hearing for charges including robbery and drug delivery, while a hearing for codefendants Anthony Reynolds and Brittany Mitchell have been postponed.
Court records allege that Walczak, Reynolds and Mitchell were involved in a plan to sell one pound of fake methamphetamine to Daniel Roach in exchange for $10,000.
Meanwhile, Roach has a case pending for allegations that he fired a revolver in response to learning about the bad drug deal, the criminal complaint states.
Walczak, Reynolds and Roach remain in McKean County Jail, while Mitchell posted $75,000 bail.
Aaron D. Davis, 28, of Port Allegany, waived a preliminary hearing for Megan’s Law violation charges. Court records allege that he opened three Instagram accounts that he did not register with state police and that he sent photos to a 13-year-old girl on Instagram and asked her to send photos to him.
Davis is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Christopher Link, 30, of Smethport, had weapons charges against him bound to McKean County Court at a hearing before District Judge William Todd. According to court records, Link was in McKean County Jail waiting for a trial in a stabbing/assault case. While he was there, corrections officers allegedly found the following items in his cell: 4-inch long metal piece attached to one end of a wooden squeegee handle that has white material wrapped around it, a metal rod sharpened to a point with gauze wrapped around the opposite end as a handle, a metal rod that was bent at one end, a black piece of curved plastic with white tape around it and a single Phillips head screw.
Link remains in jail in lieu of bail for both cases.
Bill E. E. Renner, 19, of Port Allegany, had charges including statutory sexual assault/marijuana case bound to McKean County Court at a hearing before District Judge William Todd. Court records allege that Renner shared marijuana with a 14-year-old female and had sexual intercourse with her.
Renner is free, having posted $25,000 bail.
