COUDERSPORT: Cindy Ross, a regular contributor to Pennsylvania magazine, spent a weekend in Coudersport, and the experience made it into the Jan/Feb 2021 installment of the magazine.
Ross hoped to enjoy many of the outdoor activities Potter County takes pride in offering, but due to inclement weather focused on indoor fun.
She found time to take a pysanky egg-painting class with Olga of the Olga Gallery, Cafe & Bistro, before visiting the Potter County Historical Society Museum, Hotel Crittendon and Cherry Springs State Park.
Photos of the class, museum and the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum accompany her account.

ANGER MANAGEMENT: A survey, conducted by Alcohol.org, reveals Pennsylvanians were among the angriest in 2020.
The survey polled 3,003 Americans in an effort to see where anger seemed more prevalent in the nation during 2020. As a result, the study found that 68% who have gotten angry due to the pandemic have used alcohol as a coping mechanism, while two in three admit that alcohol makes them more angry, rather than helping curb the emotion.
According to the survey, those who are angriest in the country live in Delaware, where residents admit to getting angry a significant 12 times a week — which equates to almost twice a day.
The least angry citizens have been those living in Hawaii, with people only getting riled up twice a week.
Meanwhile, Pennsylvanians polled admitted to getting angry 7 times per week (above the national average of 6).

JANUARY IS AN ADD-ON MONTH: The months of January and February were not originally in the ancient Roman calendar as the winter months were considered dormant, both in terms of agriculture but also in terms of making war.
Until 450 BCE, the Roman calendar was 10 months, beginning in March (Martius), due to the March Equinox.
