HARRISBURG — On Saturday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed there were 1,162 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 149,845.
The Department of Health did not release any new data on Sunday as of press time.
The number of tests administered between Sept. 12 and Sept. 18 is 175,962 with 5,798 positive cases. There were 28,985 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m. Sept. 18. These results represent the total number of tests administered.
There are 7,956 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 22 new deaths reported. Locally, two new cases were reported in McKean County on Saturday, bringing the total to 55 cases comprising 43 confirmed and 12 probable.
The case count remains steady in the following local counties: Elk with 67 cases, Potter with 25 and Cameron with 8.
There are no new deaths in the local area.
There are 267 cases who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases and 645 patients who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure.
There are 1,746,280 patients who have tested negative to date.
Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 22,277 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,869 cases among employees, for a total of 27,146 at 958 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of Pennsylvania’s total deaths, 5,354 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
Approximately 10,334 of Pennsylvania’s total cases are among health care workers.
