American Legion Post 138 Commander Pat Miesowitz accompanied by Chaplin Seth Digel lower the American flag in front of the McKean County Courthouse during the 19th anniversary 9/11 remembrance ceremony Friday in Smethport. The Honor Guard comprised members from American Legion Post 138, Sons of the American Legion Post 138, American Legion Post 976 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2497. In attendance was the Commander of the American Legion 23rd District Douglas Church. He is also the Commander of the Mount Jewett Legion Post 574. First Responders from the Smethport Fire Department and police departments were recognized as local heroes. In addition to the public, members of the McKean County American Legion Riders Post 976 and employees from the courthouse witnessed the ceremony.
