ST. MARYS — A caravan of cars filled with Republican candidates running for federal and state office will make two stops in Elk County on Sept. 8.
Candidates participating in the tour include Congressman Glenn Thompson, 15th District House of Representatives; Timothy DeFoor, seeking the state auditor general seat; Stacy Garrity, running for state treasurer; Heather Heidelbaugh, seeking the state attorney general seat; 25th District Senate candidate Cris Dush; and Mike Armanini, candidate for 75th District state House of Representatives.
The first stop will be around 3 p.m. at the Elk County Courthouse, where the candidates will meet and speak with voters about issues impacting rural communities, the state and the nation. Light refreshments will be available.
The tour will then travel to the Red Fern Banquet and Conference Center, 421 Old Kersey Road, St. Marys, for a reception, complimentary dinner and short speeches by the candidates from 6 to 8 p.m. Those who wish to attend must make reservations by texting 814-688-9211 or by sending an email to Heidi@GarrityforPA.com by Friday.
The candidates will have literature and yard signs.
Voter registration forms will be available for those who wish to register to vote or change their party affiliation. The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 3 general election is Oct. 19.
Masks and social distancing will be required.
