Take a trip from your computer: Matthew D. Hileman, manager of the Marilyn Horne Museum and Exhibit Center, has shared some ideas for appreciating our local museum while social distancing and staying home as much as possible.

“We live in the most connected period in all of history. Through the internet and mobile technology, we can now chat face-to-face with friends and family around the world, take virtual tours of the world’s great museums and historical sites, and stay informed of the latest events as they unfold,” Hileman said via email. “We’re joining museums around the world to offer special online content via YouTube. The museum’s dedicated channel will feature unique, specially created content, as well as highlights from our chamber concert series beginning in the fall of this year.”
Hileman also wanted to take the time to recognize the visitors who have been to the museum prior to the current closure.
“We love our patrons. From the regular shoppers at the museum store to the visitors who make the pilgrimage from distant states and other countries to visit us; your support means more to the museum than you may know,” he said. “Now, more than ever, I would like to say thank you for your ongoing support. Whether you simply come to our outreach programs or have given us financial support, you are helping to build an important legacy for the future.
“This is the most challenging time the world has seen in many years. I am delighted that we can continue to be here for you in our own small way to provide positive, entertaining, and educational content. Now, more than ever.”
Hileman said he wishes good health and much happiness and hopes to have the chance to welcome you at the museum soon!
