Bradford Area School District has added locations available for students and siblings to pick up pre-packaged breakfasts and lunches while schools are closed.
The grab-and-go pickup stations will be open from 11 a.m. to noon each weekday. Children who are enrolled in the closed schools along with their siblings under the age of 18 who reside in the same household are eligible to participate. The participating students and siblings must be present to receive the meals.
On Tuesday, staff will be handing out meals at Bradford Area High School parking lot, and at the parking lot of Floyd C. Fretz Middle School,
Beginning Wednesday, staff will be handing out meals at George G. Blaisdell Elementary School, and the fire departments at Derrick City, Rew, Lafayette Township, Lewis Run, Corydon Township and at Bradford Township’s West Washington Street and Custer City locations; as well as Stoney Hollow on Barbour Street.
Each location will use a “drive through” method to pick up the meals. Families will need to have the students with them, allowing the district to keep an accurate count of what children were served.
The distribution will continue through Friday, March 27.
