PORT ALLEGANY — The Gators forced a turnover via a full-court press and had one last shot to pull off a big interstate victory.
But a Howie Stuckey 3-pointer with 1.6 seconds remaining fell short, and Bolivar-Richburg (N.Y) held on for a 60-58 victory over Port Allegany Tuesday night.
The Gators jumped ahead to a 10-point lead, but B-R pulled back ahead and held at least a one possession lead for the remainder of the game, according to Port A coach Kyle Babcock.
Stuckey hit five 3-pointers in the game and finished with 20 points for Port A (1-2). Teammate Jordan Card registered 18 tallies and Dominic Guerrero had nine.
Camdyn MacDonell had a big game for Bolivar-Richburg, knocking down a game-high 25 points, including 7-for-10 at the free-throw line.
Landon Danaher had two 3-pointers and finished with 22 points for the Wolverines.
In a physical game, the two teams combined for 34 fouls with three players fouling out.

DUKE CENTER — Otto-Eldred overcame a sluggish first quarter for a resounding win over rival Oswayo Valley in the Terror Dome.
O-E (1-0) trailed the Green Wave (0-3) by two after the first quarter, 14-12, before exploding for a 20-point lead going into the fourth quarter.
“We had a slow start in that first quarter, but we picked up the defensive intensity,” said O-E head coach Dan Dalton. “We got some steals and got some good buckets off of that.”
Three different Terrors scored in double-digits, as Gavin Jimerson and Matt Murphy each scored 10 points, and Jake Merry scored 12. Jimerson had five rebounds on the night, while Merry had five steals.
For Oswayo Valley, Gunner Bean had eight points, and Caiden Black had seven.
The Terrors host Eisenhower Friday in the Randy Stebbins Memorial Tournament. Oswayo Valley takes on Smethport that night.

JOHNSONBURG — Despite a 29-point performance from Austin Green, Johnsonburg couldn’t stave off Elk County Catholic in a 64-53 Crusader win.
ECC (2-0) led by just three after the first quarter before taking a 39-27 lead into halftime. The Crusaders then held Johnsonburg at bay for a nine-point win.
Regis Wortman led Elk Catholic with 20 points, and Mark Kraus scored 14. Kraus drilled four treys on the night.
Green’s 29 were a game-high, and he sank six three-pointers on the evening. Gabe Watts added 11 points for the Rams (2-1).
