Glendorn: A reader and descendent of Paul A Rigguti recently submitted a photo of note to The Bradford Era. The photo shows the partial construction of the main building of Glendorn in 1929.
Rigguti was responsible for creating the lake, some of the roads and the foundation for the main building at Glendorn, while his son, Paul W Rigguti also worked on the project.
The photo, seen here, was submitted by Jay Rigguti, Paul W.’s son.
The history of the estate begins in 1927, when C.G. Dorn purchased the land to create a retreat for his growing family. The estate offered the family a wonderfully secluded retreat for several decades before the family decided to open it to the public in 1995.
In 2009, the property changed hands, as Cliff Forrest took over the reins.
Forrest set himself the goal of preservation: focusing on the history of the location and also hoping to maintain the activities, service and culinary fare.

Coyote cam?: We recently ran a story on the two live cameras set up in Benezette by PixController, owned by Bill Powers of Murraysville.
The two cameras focus on sites chosen by the Elk Country Visitors Center.
While the cameras are intended to help interested viewers watch the elk during the rut, one camera captured an unexpected visitor. On Wednesday, a coyote was caught roaming through the area.
