A number of preliminary hearings were held Wednesday at the two magisterial district courts in Bradford.
Joshua C. Pingie, 27, of Bradford, had the number of charges against him in a theft case reduced. The theft charges were reduced from 31 counts to one, and the number of criminal mischief and receiving stolen property charges were reduced, too. All remaining charges were bound to McKean County Court before District Judge Richard Luther, including charges of burglary, criminal mischief and criminal trespassing. Pingie is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
David R. Kelsey, 47, of 186 E. Main St., Bradford, had a charge of intimidating a witness that was filed against him in May bound to McKean County Court at a hearing before District Judge Dominic Cercone. According to the criminal complaint, around 9:30 a.m. April 10, when Kelsey and an alleged victim in an assault case against him were in the waiting room at Cercone’s office for a hearing on the assault case, Kelsey walked past her and said, “If you were smart you wouldn’t have shown up.” Kelsey is free on unsecured bail.
David Rivera, 29, of 55 Bank St., Bradford, had the following charges against him bound to McKean County Court at a hearing before Cercone: terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; harassment and disorderly conduct, summaries. He is accused of slamming his mother’s hand and wrist in a door and threatening to slit his parents throats, the criminal complaint stated. He is in jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
George H.L. Cabisca, 40, of 173 Kennedy St., Bradford, had a charge of hindering apprehension that was filed against him in August bound to McKean County Court at a hearing before Cercone. Cabisca is accused of harboring in his residence a man who was wanted for allegations of aggravated indecent assault of a child, according to the criminal complaint. Cabisca is free on unsecured bail.
Robert B. Densmore, 35, of Bradford, had a case against him withdrawn. Densmore was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing before Cercone, but the charges were dropped. He had been charged with statement under penalty and materially false written statement—purchase, delivery, transfer of firearm.
Steven C. Phillips, 63, of Bradford, had a case against him withdrawn on Wednesday. Phillips was set to appear for a preliminary hearing before Luther for charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, but the charges were dropped.
