SMETHPORT — A Bradford man was convicted of charges in a rape case after a trial Monday and Tuesday this week in McKean County Court.
A jury found Christopher R. Yohe, 29, guilty of rape and burglary, first-degree felonies; sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault, second-degree felonies; criminal trespass, a third-degree felony; unlawful restraint a first-degree misdemeanor; and indecent assault, a second-degree misdemeanor, District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reported.
The jury did not reach a verdict on a second count of burglary, Shaffer said.
“The charges stemmed from an investigation into the defendant’s actions against the victim at a residence in Foster Township,” she said. “The case was investigated by Patrolman Shaun McDonald and Patrolman Michael Spencer of the Foster Township Police Department.”
Shaffer prosecuted the case on behalf of the Commonwealth.
A criminal complaint filed at the time of Yohe’s arrest alleged that on June 14, 2018, the victim was in a home in Foster Township getting ready to wash dishes, when she received a phone call from Yohe. He told her he wanted to see her, then the victim then found out he was already in the house.
She told him to leave, but he refused; instead, he pinned her arms down under his knees, took off some of her clothing and sexually assaulted her, court records stated.
No sentencing date was announced.
