Emporium man seriously injured in Saturday crash
COUDERSPORT — An Emporium man, driving without his seatbelt, received a serious injury in a crash at 7:15 p.m. Saturday on Route 607 near Horn Hollow Road in Austin.
Coudersport-based state police said a pickup truck driven by Travis Gribble, 30, was traveling north on Route 607 in Keating Township, Potter County, when the truck went off the road, and Gribble swerved left to get back on the road. The truck slid across the road, went off the south side of the road, rolled over into a large ditch and struck several trees.
Police said he was airlifted to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre with a serious spinal injury, and noted that he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Austin Fire Department and Coudersport EMS assisted at the scene.
DuBois man facing sexual assault allegations in Ridgway
RIDGWAY — A DuBois man is facing sexual assault charges stemming from an alleged incident Feb. 16 on North Broad Street in Ridgway.
Ridgway Borough police said the following charges were filed against 27-year-old Benedict Asti: statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and indecent assault.
The charges were filed July 31 in the office of District Judge James Martin, according to court records.
There is no indication from court records that Asti has been arraigned.
